Is HandIt! free to join?
Yes. Creating an account is free. You can browse tasks and sign up without a credit card.
How do payments work?
Paid tasks and rentals are charged in EUR by card via Stripe. Your card is authorised when the helper is accepted (or your borrow request is approved) and only captured on confirmed completion. Helpers and lenders receive automatic Stripe Connect Express payouts to their bank — no manual cashout is needed. In-app credits are a separate closed-loop system used for boosting visibility and earning rewards (signup, daily, referrals).
How do I choose the right helper?
Review profiles, recent ratings, and messages. Ask one or two clarifying questions before accepting.

How does borrowing items work?
List items you can lend or browse what neighbors have available. When a borrow request is accepted, the borrower's card is authorised for the rent and a separate hold is placed for the deposit. Both parties confirm the handoff, then confirm the return. The rent is captured and paid out to the lender; the deposit hold is released to the borrower minus any damage or late fees.
What happens if an item isn't returned?
Borrowers are notified at 1, 3, and 7 days overdue. If the item isn't returned after 7 days, the full deposit is automatically forfeited to the lender and the borrower's account is suspended for 30 days.
Are my items protected when I lend them?
Yes. When you lend an item, the borrower's rent is authorised on their card and a refundable deposit hold is placed separately. If the item is damaged, you can report damage with photos and we may capture part of the deposit to cover it. If the item is not returned within the overdue window, the rent and deposit can be captured to you.
How do I get paid?
Helpers and lenders are paid in real money (EUR) automatically. Once a task or rental is completed, Stripe captures the payment, deducts our flat 10% platform fee, and queues a Stripe Connect Express payout to your bank account (T+2 daily, after a 7-day initial reserve from your first sale). There is no manual cashout to request — just connect your bank in Wallet → Payouts.
