How can we help?

Tax reporting (DAC7)

If you earn money on HandIt, an EU rule called DAC7 requires us to report your earnings to the tax authority once a year. Here is exactly what that means, what we collect, and what your rights are.

What is DAC7?

DAC7 (EU Council Directive 2021/514) is a European rule that requires online platforms to report the earnings of their sellers to the national tax authority once a year. In Romania that authority is ANAF. The platform collects and reports the data — you do not file anything to us.

It applies across the entire EU. The goal is simple: make income earned through platforms visible to tax authorities, the same way a regular salary already is.

Does it apply to me?

It applies to you only if you EARN money on HandIt by performing tasks or services — for example a helper paid for completing a task.

If you only post tasks or pay to borrow items (you are the buyer), DAC7 does not apply to you and we do not collect any tax details from you.

What we report

Once a year, for each seller, we report:

  • Your identity — name, address, date of birth (individuals) or business registration number (companies), and your tax ID: CNP for individuals, CUI for businesses.
  • Your total earnings, broken down per calendar quarter and reported in the currency you were actually paid in — with no conversion.
  • The number of activities you were paid for.

For services there is no minimum — earnings are reportable from the very first euro. Tips count towards your earnings.

Your card details are not part of the report, and your payouts are handled securely by Stripe.

What you provide

Almost everything comes from your Stripe payout account automatically — your name, address and date of birth. The only thing we ask you for is your tax ID:

Individuals
Your CNP (personal numeric code) — 13 digits.
Businesses / sole traders
Your CUI (fiscal code) and trade-register number. We can verify the CUI against the official ANAF register for you.

You add this once, in your profile under “Tax reporting (DAC7)”. It takes about a minute.

Deadlines & reminders

We report once a year, for the previous year. We will remind you to add your tax details well before the deadline, and again if anything is still missing.

If you earn but do not provide your tax ID in time, we may have to hold your payouts until it is complete — so it is best to fill it in as soon as you start earning.

Your rights

You can view and correct your tax details at any time (GDPR Article 16) — every change is recorded.

By 31 January each year we send you a copy of exactly what we reported about you, so you can check it and use it for your own tax return.

How your data is kept

Your tax ID and identity details are stored securely and are NEVER visible to other users. We use them only for DAC7 reporting and keep them only for as long as the law requires.
